Role Overview
The ePaper Content Writer is a digital-first journalist responsible for researching and writing compelling stories tailored for online audiences. The writer identifies trending topics, monitors social media conversations, and transforms breaking news, viral stories, and political developments into high-impact and analytical digital journalism. Operating in a fast-paced newsroom, the role contributes directly to traffic growth, reader engagement, and overall editorial performance of the ePaper platform.

Their key responsibilities include:
- Research, and write timely and engaging analytical stories for the ePaper platform.
- Monitor social media and digital trends to identify viral and high-interest content opportunities.
- Ensure accuracy through thorough fact-checking and verification before writing and submitting.
- Analyze Kenyan and global political developments with clarity and context.
- Collaborate with editors and other writers to maintain consistent tone, quality, and publishing efficiency.
- Uphold editorial integrity, ethical journalism standards, and digital publishing best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in digital journalism.
- Strong understanding of digital audiences, content analytics, and SEO principles.
- Deep knowledge of social media platforms, audience engagement strategies, and viral content dynamics.
- Solid grasp of Kenyan and global political landscapes.
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong research and fact-verification skills.
- Creative thinker with strong news judgment and the ability to identify compelling digital angles quickly.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven digital newsroom environment.
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related field from a recognized institution.
