Key Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Communication Department and in collaboration with the cultural and educational teams, the consultant will be responsible for:
- Providing artistic direction for the communication materials of the Alliance Française de Nairobi
- Ensuring the consistent implementation of the institution’s visual identity across all communication channels
- Designing and producing a wide range of communication tools related to: cultural programming and events, French language courses, translation services, institutional communication, partnerships and special projects.
- Developing and adapting templates in line with the new brand guidelines
- Producing format adaptations and resizing for both print and digital media
- Creating visual assets for social media campaigns and digital communication
- Generating creative content ideas and supporting online engagement strategies
- Preparing and optimizing multimedia content before publication
- Collaborating closely with internal teams to meet communication needs and production deadlines
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- Strong graphic design and visual communication skills
- Excellent command of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Understanding of branding systems and editorial design
- Experience designing both print and digital platforms
- Knowledge of social media formats and content production workflows
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Interest in arts, culture, and contemporary creative industries
- Motion design and video editing skills are considered an asset
- Knowledge of French is an advantage but not mandatory
CONTRACT CONDITIONS
- Consultancy contract based in Nairobi
- Duty station: Alliance Française de Nairobi – on site 5 days per week
- Initial duration: 3 months, renewable and with potential opportunities for further engagement.
- Monthly consultancy fee: KES 65,000
- Payment: end of every month, subject to applicable tax
- French language training at Alliance Française (approximately 240 hours, equivalent to a full A1, A2, B1, or B2 level) – valued at KES 90,500.
