**Duties and responsibilities**
Duties and responsibilities entail:
- Participating in reviewing and updating the monitoring tools for children’s institutions;
- Participating in the preparation and inspection reports;
- Participating in monitoring of adherence to set standards by children’s institutions;
- Participating in reviewing of children programmes and policies in order to address children emerging issues;
- Disseminating standards on the care of displaced or unaccompanied children to stakeholders for implementation;
- Assisting in monitoring implementation of international and regional obligations relating to rights and welfare of children;
- Organizing trainings of stakeholders on the rights and welfare of children;
- Assisting in dissemination of laws, policies, guidelines on the rights and welfare of children;
- Carrying out advocacy, public education and awaren
Job Specification
Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –
- Cumulative service period of six (6) years’ three (3) of which must be at the grade of Compliance Officer I or in a comparable position;
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Social Sciences, Education; Sociology; Gender, Women and Development Studies; Gender and Development; Community Development; Counseling and Psychology; Sociology and Religious Studies; Sociology and Economics or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable; and
- Computer Proficiency.
