Job summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Customs Clearance Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating customs clearance processes, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and facilitating the timely clearance of imported and exported goods.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Clearing & Forwarding, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in customs clearance or freight forwarding.
- Knowledge of customs procedures and import/export regulations in Kenya.
- Experience using customs clearance systems and documentation processes.
- Strong understanding of shipping documentation and trade compliance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict clearance deadlines.
- Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and process import and export customs documentation.Lodge customs entries through the relevant customs systems.Ensure compliance with customs laws, regulations, and trade requirements.Coordinate with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), shipping lines, airlines, port authorities, and other regulatory agencies.Monitor shipment progress and provide timely updates to clients and management.Calculate applicable duties, taxes, and other customs charges.Verify shipping documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and permits.Resolve customs clearance issues, discrepancies, and delays promptly.Maintain accurate records of customs transactions and shipment documentation.Liaise with transporters, warehouse personnel, and clients to ensure efficient cargo movement.Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and international trade procedures.
