Job description & requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network equipment including routers, switches, access points, and related hardware at field sites.
- Perform structured cabling (Ethernet and fiber optic) installations and ensure proper connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues in LAN/WAN and wireless environments.
- Conduct on-site diagnostics using appropriate network testing tools and equipment.
- Respond to service calls and provide timely technical support to minimize downtime.
- Carry out preventive maintenance on network infrastructure and equipment.
- Document all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities in service reports.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams to escalate and resolve complex network issues.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, safety procedures, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Provide basic technical guidance and support to end-users when required.
- Maintain inventory and proper handling of network tools and equipment.
- Travel to different client or operational sites as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience is required.
- Basic knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP).
- Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment.
- Experience with routers, switches, and access points is an added advantage.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in the field and travel to different sites.
- CCNA or Network+ certification is an added advantage.
