Job description & requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records.
- Register patients and manage filing systems for both manual and electronic records.
- Retrieve and distribute patient files to authorized personnel when required.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information at all times.
- Prepare and submit health statistics and reports as required by management and regulatory bodies.
- Support implementation and maintenance of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of patient documentation.
- Archive inactive records according to hospital policies.
- Assist in SHA claims documentation and records verification.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to improve records management processes.
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health standards and data protection regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Health Records and Information Technology/Management from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the relevant professional body where applicable.
- Minimum of [1–3] years’ experience in a healthcare setting is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and within a team environment.
