Job description & requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise patients within the hospital wards and residential facilities to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
- Promote discipline, respect, and adherence to hospital rules and routines.
- Monitor patients' general welfare and promptly report any concerns to the relevant clinical team.
- Support the admission and orientation of patients into the facility.
- Ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and proper use of hospital accommodation and common areas.
- Encourage positive behaviour and foster a calm, supportive atmosphere for patient recovery.
- Address minor disputes among patients and escalate serious concerns to management where necessary.
- Keep records of incidents, observations, and patient welfare issues.
- Work closely with the nursing and clinical teams to support patients' overall well-being.
- Ensure patients comply with scheduled activities, meal times, visiting hours, and other hospital routines.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate or Diploma in Nursing, Community Health, Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Caregiving, or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a hospital, rehabilitation centre, residential care facility, children's home, or similar institution will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage people in a residential setting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and emotionally mature, with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
- Honest, dependable, and willing to reside within or work flexible hours as required.
