Gross Salary: ZMW 21,012 per month
Role Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of a fast-growing solar energy company serving underserved communities across Sub-Saharan Africa, is seeking Regional Coordinators to lead a four-person validation team driving expansion into new and untested African markets. The role spans validation, pilot, and scale-up phases, evolving from assessing market viability to managing up to 60 operational sites, and requires an adaptable, entrepreneurial leader with strong operational, commercial, and people management skills, capable of building and scaling operations in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive regional growth from pilot stages through full-scale operations using the company's
proven expansion model.
- Identify, validate, and approve new sites while building a sustainable pipeline for future growth.
- Support successful market entry, validation activities, pilot deployments, and operational scale-
up initiatives.
- Develop and execute strategic growth plans aligned with overall business objectives.
- Own and manage the regional Profit and Loss (P&L) performance.
- Monitor and drive operational and financial performance to achieve regional profitability.
- Develop quarterly and monthly plans to achieve customer growth, revenue, and operational
excellence targets.
- Ensure the region consistently meets key performance indicators and profitability benchmarks.
- Oversee regional inventory management and ensure compliance with inventory control
processes and policies.
- Maintain zero lost battery packs through effective implementation of inventory management
procedures and pack tracking processes.
- Manage inventory overstock levels across hubs.
- Maintain missing battery packs below 1% at the regional level, both at hub locations and with
customers.
- Collaborate closely with the Regional Service Engineer to maintain a minimum energy uptime of
99.95% across all operational sites.
- Coordinate technical support activities to ensure rapid resolution of operational and technical issues.
- Support the implementation of operational infrastructure required for successful market launches and expansion.
- Coordinate allocation of field resources across multiple sites, including staffing, inventory, technical support, and operational assets.
- Ensure effective deployment of resources to support business growth and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and optimize performance.
- Lead, coach, and develop Hub Managers and regional field teams.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and certification of regional staff.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, customer service, and operational excellence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and development initiatives.
- Drive customer acquisition, retention, and service quality initiatives.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and ensure timely resolution of service-related issues.
- Support field teams in achieving customer growth targets and maintaining high service standards.
Key Requirements
✓ Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field.
Equivalent field leadership experience combined with relevant professional training may also be
considered.
✓ Minimum of 5 years of progressive operational or commercial experience within FMCG, Energy,
Telecommunications, or similarly fast-paced industries.
✓ Demonstrated experience launching, managing, or scaling distributed operations in emerging
African markets.
✓ Willingness and ability to travel extensively across multiple African markets for extended
periods.
✓ Comfortable working in remote and emerging market environments while leading on-the-
ground validation, pilot, and expansion activities.
✓ Proven experience leading geographically dispersed teams and managing field operations.
✓ Experience managing operational performance, profitability, and business growth initiatives.
✓ Sound commercial and financial management skills, including P&L ownership.
