Qualifications
Pursuant to Section 66 of the Civil Aviation Act CAP 394, applicants to this position must be qualified to be appointed as a judge of the High Court. The applicant must therefore hold the following qualifications: i
- Hold a law degree from a recognized university, or are advocates of the High Court of Kenya, or professionally qualified magistrates, or possess an equivalent qualification in a common-law jurisdiction
- Have at least ten (10) years’ experience as a distinguished academic, or legal practitioner, or such experience in other relevant legal field;
- Have held the qualifications specified in paragraphs (i) and above for a period amounting, in the aggregate, to ten (10) years; irrespective of whether that experience was gained in Kenya or in another Commonwealth Common-Law jurisdiction.
- Qualification and experience in alternative dispute resolution will be an added advantage.
