About Our Cient

Our Client is a leading telecommunications engineering company,

incorporated in 2021, providing an Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and

Management (EPCM) model to its customers. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya,

the company has rapidly expanded its footprint across East Africa, with

established operations in Somalia and South Sudan, and plans to expand into

Tanzania and Ethiopia. We are a trusted partner to global technology

leaders, delivering high-quality, reliable turnkey projects and maintenance

services to a rapidly expanding telecommunication market.

Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Human Resources

Manager to build and lead our HR function from the ground up. You will be

responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that support our

rapid growth, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure compliance across

our multi-national operations. This is a critical leadership role for someone

who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is passionate about

building a world-class team.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR & Policy Development

  • Develop, implement, and continuously update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook, ensuring alignment with company values and local labor laws.
  • Partner with the executive team to translate business goals into a comprehensive people strategy, including workforce planning and organizational design to support expansion into new regions like Tanzania and Ethiopia.
  • Establish and manage key HR metrics and reporting systems to track progress and inform decisions.

Talent Management

  • Lead the full recruitment lifecycle, from workforce planning and sourcing to interviewing, selection, and offer negotiation, to attract top-tier engineering and corporate talent.
  • Design and implement a structured onboarding and induction program to ensure new hires are effectively integrated and productive.
  • Develop performance management systems, including annual reviews, goal-setting (e.g., OKRs/KPIs), and processes for managing underperformance.

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee relations matters, providing guidance to management and staff on resolving conflicts, conducting investigations, and administering discipline.
  • Champion a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture that reflects our client's mission and values, and organize employee engagement initiatives.
  • Implement retention strategies, stay/exit interviews, and action plans to continuously improve employee satisfaction.

Compensation, Benefits & Compliance

  • Oversee the administration of payroll, compensation, and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive, equitable, and cost-effective.
  • Ensure full legal compliance and manage relationships with relevant government agencies (e.g., NSSF, NHIF, KRA) across all operating jurisdictions (Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, and future markets).
  • Manage HR-related risk, including workplace safety, data privacy, and insurance requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP-K, IHRM) is a strong plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or senior generalist role.
  • Prior experience in a fast-growing, multi-national, or project-based environment (engineering, construction, telecom, or technology) is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep knowledge of Kenyan labor law is mandatory; familiarity with labor regulations in other East African countries is a significant advantage.
  • Proven ability to build HR processes and a people function from the ground up.
  • Demonstrated experience in complex employee relations, conflict resolution, and leading investigations.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to partner with operational leaders to solve problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high integrity and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and G-Suite.

What We Offer

  • A pivotal leadership role in a high-growth, innovative telecommunications company.
  • The opportunity to build and shape the HR function for a pan-African enterprise.
  • A competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience.
  • A collaborative and dynamic work environment.
