General Purpose
Our client, a market leader in the food manufacturing sector with exciting brands such as drinking chocolates, ice cream, yogurts, topping sauces, and chocolate spreads, is seeking to recruit a Quality Assurance Assistant to support the implementation of quality assurance systems, food safety standards, and product quality monitoring across the manufacturing process.
Location: Tilisi Logistics Park, Limuru | Salary: Ksh. 35,000
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct routine quality inspections and audits on raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with established quality and food safety standards.
- Perform product sampling, testing, and analysis, and document results accurately.
- Ensure adherence to HACCP, FSMS, FSSC 22000, GMP, and other food safety requirements.
- Investigate quality deviations, customer complaints, and non-conformities, and support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain quality records, reports, certificates, and documentation in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Monitor plant hygiene standards, sanitation activities, and pest control programs.
- Participate in risk assessments, change management processes, equipment calibration, and validation activities.
- Track quality performance indicators and prepare quality reports for management review.
- Train and sensitize production staff on quality, food safety, hygiene, and compliance requirements.
- Verify compliance with OSHA Act 2007 and other applicable health and safety regulations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through KAIZEN and root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies.
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
- Ensure customer specifications and expectations are consistently met.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or Dairy Technology (Mandatory).
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Food Manufacturing Industry within the Quality Control/Quality Assurance Department.
- Practical understanding of quality assurance processes within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Food Safety Standards and
Regulatory Requirements.
- Product Testing, Inspection, and Quality Monitoring.
