Location: Nairobi|
Salary: Ksh. 70,000 – Ksh. 100,000
Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and drive Food Safety and Quality Assurance strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing QA and Food Safety teams.
- Collaborate with senior management to achieve food safety, quality, compliance, and operational performance goals.
Quality Assurance
- Establish and monitor quality standards for raw materials, production processes, and finished products.
- Lead routine audits and inspections across facilities and implement corrective actions.
- Develop reporting frameworks and quality metrics to monitor performance and continuous improvement. Food Safety Management
- Design, implement, and maintain HACCP, GMP, and other food safety programs.
- Oversee sanitation, hygiene, and contamination prevention initiatives across operations.
- Ensure food safety risks are identified, assessed, and effectively controlled.
Certification & Compliance
- Lead certification programs including ISO, HACCP, and other industry standards.
- Coordinate internal audits, external audits, and certification inspections.
- Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations and requirements. Laboratory Operations
- Oversee laboratory testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Develop laboratory procedures, quality controls, and equipment maintenance programs.
- Ensure accurate, reliable, and timely laboratory reporting.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain comprehensive records of food safety programs, audits, corrective actions, and quality systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, food safety, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure all documentation meets regulatory and certification requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Degree in Food Science & Technology or a related field.
- Master's Degree will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in Food Safety & Quality Assurance within a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO standards, food safety regulations, and quality management systems.
- Demonstrated experience in laboratory management, audits, certifications, and compliance programs.
- Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
